not an architect. tx-born, midwest-raised, homeschooled all over. into writing, Jesus, ttrpgs, classic literature & fandom culture. executive dysfunctionaire. (much like Tigger, I'm the only one!)
the other xianxia we watched in the past few months (on Viki) is Legend of the Female General, which is not high art but I enjoyed a lot & would describe as a great fanfic (complimentary). A bunch of classic Kdramas just hit Netflix that are very fun too.

ok YES my Mom & I just finished binging Love in the Clouds, which was veryyy glossy & pretty. It takes a bit to get going but around ep 8 it takes off & is bonkers. Netflix still has Who Rules The World, which I really loved, it's "the world of martial arts balanced against palace intrigue".

unfortunately our midwestern dying one just has large hanging drapes with inspirational quotes over the empty hollowed out stores & it really adds a dystopian flourish

hahahaha yupppp. like when I was hearing about a specific kind of drastic keto that helped my uncle get off meds, while I was dementia caregiving, & I was sincerely like "if I stopped eating carbs right now, I would step in front of a bus."

the true Victorian Christian trope is quoting the Bible and not even mentioning the reference because the person you're talking to is extremely biblically literate.

the silliest "devout Christian person" trope has to be "quoting the Bible, but only when you immediately follow it by solemnly intoning the exact chapter & verse."
even if you breathe the Bible, it comes out like "ahhh it's in Hebrews somewhere I think" or "Psalms! probably!" or "check me on this."

oh man, that sounds worth it. (I never know with older prestige shows if the rep they have is for language or violence, but if I could do the Pitt, maybe I can hack it with a pillow!)
