the Archangel Series by Sharon Shinn! a teen series, but a terrific world with biblically-flavored names where angels are an elite class who fly & sing to control the weather, & must marry humans. there's some soulmate trope, & as the series progresses, it reveals great twists about the setting 👌

rereading because of the new anime and the thing is ranma 1/2 is SO good, the throwaway joke rate is so high, I can't 100% recommend because of dated tropes, but the slapstick martial arts comedy is just 👌🤌✨

Ooohh yup, well this isn't NEAR as serious, the opening credits pose each women with the (usually wild) animal she is in the ecosystem, & the whole plot is kicked off by a manicurist using "jungle red" as a color. It's witty as all heck though
