At the rental car place and there’s a man outside smoking a cigarette chatting with the pigeons. Not feeding them, having full blown conversations with each one about their day. Someone pulled up and he said “I know you didn’t just pull up on my birds!” And the car moved.

Had to explain to a coworker that this wasn’t a government shut down but rather a coup. Reminded her that many parts of the government are open and operating and that it is selective who isn’t. Now she’s on Google.

Mom turned 75 today. We had steak and rum and chocolate cake and she was so exhausted at the end of the night (9 pm) she was ready for bed. Lucky for her she received fresh pajamas and new bedding as her presents and she’s fast asleep with a peppermint from the restaurant clutched in her hand. 10/10
