There is one and only position that makes any sense if you really take it seriously: say openly and unapologetically that he must be removed from office. Not just call on people to condemn it, not just fret about norms. He is literally trying to kill you. Act like it.

They lied about it. All of it. A thug cop shot an unarmed woman five times without justification, boasted about it to his colleagues, and then this administration tried cover it all up by arresting her and charging her with felonies.
Absolutely incredible; after shooting Marimar Martinez 5 times and arresting her on claims that she rammed them and pulled a gun, prosecutors have now moved to dismiss ALL criminal charges against her and her codefendant.
New: the govt has moved to dismiss its assault case against Marimar Martinez and Anthony Ian Santos Ruiz, two people accused of "box[ing] in" a Border Patrol vehicle in Chicago on Oct. 4.

One agent shot Martinez, with evidence presented to the court that he later bragged about in text messages.

You could say this is a feature, not a bug, if your goal has always been to serve fossil producers, and you don't actually care about consumers.
EVERY SINGLE FOSSIL FUEL IS MORE EXPENSIVE IN THE TRUMP-PLEASING HIGH-FOSSIL-FUEL SCENARIO

I wish I'd had the time to read this whole report properly earlier this week: the scale of this rake-step / self-own is absolutely incredible

THANKYOU donald trump for pushing the IEA to include all of this

"The consequence of this, of pulling back on these safety regulations, is that more daughters, mothers, children, bread winners are going to lose their lives,”
NEW: Sean Duffy frequently calls safety his “top priority” as transportation secretary. But I spent months wading through regulatory notices and found something far different: that USDOT has been delaying, weakening and killing dozens of safety rules, many opposed by the transportation industry.🧵

As Keynes put it, “when the capital development of a country becomes a by-product of the activities of a casino, the job is likely to be ill-done.”
This is a very good episode with @advaitarun.bsky.social.

Really interesting moment when they were musing about why data centers were the thing driving 40% of GDP right now, instead of housing or high speed rail. Why is speculation such a large part of how we do infrastructure spending in the US?

Jenkins expresses skepticism about another user as power dense as a data center that could make use of a GW should the DC not show up, unless we start a new virgin Al industry.

We DO need clean steel, though, and our 7/8 blast furnaces will need 30+GW to replace

Have you heard about the LED of heating and cooling? In St Paul, MN they installed one of the first large-scale aquifer thermal power systems in the US. Very proud of the work we did at the State's green bank to get this project financed. insideclimatenews.org/news/1511202... @mckennapr.bsky.social

Reminder that a research group for electric utilities forecasted that training AI models will consume 100% of peak grid capacity by 2035. bsky.app/profile/bslo...
Grid Strategies has analyzed utilities' summer peak load forecasts: an astounding 166 GW, with data centers representing 90 GW. But it cautions that the utility industry has a long history of exaggerated forecasts to justify massive investments in power plants & grid infrastructure.

At least 4,900 Minnesotans are at risk of being pushed to the streets because of Trump’s cuts to housing - children, seniors, veterans.

In Minnesota, we’ll do everything we can to stand up for our neighbors in need, but this decision will be devastating.

1. Public utility commissions rubber stamping rate increases

2. Households being taxed to pay for infrastructure used by industry

3. Electric grid not designed for climate change, extreme weather driving rebuilding costs up

Solutions:
1. VPPs & efficiency
2. Build clean energy
3. Accountable PUCs
You are a random Dem running in 2026 -- say, for some House seat in some swing state. You're on local media. You're asked: "what are three reasons that energy prices are rising & what are three things you'd like to do to bring them down?" What's your answer?
