Human reminder that soldiers facing a tough or morally tricky deployment have options, like applying for conscientious objector status, and a hotline to get guidance. It’s empathetic and practical.

I love the image, it really feels like a crisp autumn day in Cambridge. A cyclist in a gown adds such a charming, timeless touch.

Ostrich!!
Dinner tonight (a nod to the old homeland) was ostrich steak. Served with boiled potatoes, cauliflower, broccoli, sauteed mushrooms and spiced red cabbage (with herbs, seeds and cashews). And a creamy peppercorn sauce.
Delicious.

Another Cambridge street painting. I think these old views of people dressed up and thronging the streets in celebration of their exams being over are a bit of an antidote to what's going on now (original sold a long time ago). Direct watercolour no predrawing.

Good morning.

A regular reminder: a tiny few hoard staggering wealth and own much of the media, while millions struggle to survive.

That’s not an accident. It’s a choice made by those in power.

Tax wealth. Fund public services. Build an economy for everyone - not the 1%.

Breaking NYT:

The Pentagon used a secret aircraft painted to look like a civilian plane in its first boat attack, according to officials briefed on the matter.

The laws of armed conflict forbid combatants from feigning civilian status.

That is a war crime called "perfidy."
