I’m lying here reading the news. I get a text from a friend/Friend that her son — a full US citizen and college graduate — was taken by the FBI yesterday morning and is being held in custody for attending an ICE protest.

These are the times we read about in history class. This is a witch hunt.

Timely reminder that the treatment for chemical weapons like tear gas and pepper spray is:

1) remove from active contamination (get them out of the cloud of teargas, remove outer layers of clothing if possible)
2) flush eyes with ONLY clean water. Wash skin and hair with water and soap.

This is California.

Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

Did Trump think that people wouldn’t find out about this? Like the internet doesn’t exist in Mexico or something?

I read David Brooks saying we need a not normal big response to Trump and DOGE and the hostile takeover (cutting Americorps, cutting NIH…)—is there a coordinated response to join?

Visited University of Denver—medium sized school in a city, not religiously affiliated, generous acceptance rate. Could be a hit…(is there a way to post the same content at the same time here and on other platforms?)

Highly recommend The Disengaged Teen — just read it on plane to DC. Are you or is your teen operating as a passenger, achiever, resister or explorer, or something else? Do the types fit your experience? See pic for summary.

Study-Abroad Funding Is Paused, Leaving Some Students Stranded (Gift Article)
The Trump administration stopped State Department funding for scholarships like the Fulbright. Weeks later, it is still unclear when it may resume.
