*Our new LTN paper out today*

Do 'boundary road' junctions with minor roads get safer when minor roads are filtered (i.e. closed to through-traffic)?

We tested this using police-reported casualty data (2012–24) from 113 London Low Traffic Neighbourhoods (LTNs) introduced between 2015–24.

Surprised to see that the Telegraph, Times and Mail don't seem to have written up the study about LTNs cutting deaths and injuries by more than a third. I guess the PR email must have got lost or something. They're normally all so interested in the subject.

Good to see that The Guardian has published Living Streets’ spot on response to the thoroughly disappointing and misleading opinion piece last week.

A very clear response from London Fire Commissioner, Andy Rowe to a question at Fire Plenary last week from Emma Best AM about the impact of LTNs on fire brigade attendance times.

"We genuinely couldn't find any evidence of LTNs doing anything to our overall attendance times".

Exciting to see the transformation of Dulwich Square as construction wraps up! What was once a car-dominated area has now become a vibrant, safer space for people to travel through and spend time.

A big shout-out to @lb-southwark.bsky.social for making this happen! #StreetsForPeople

On a bike, you’re not hidden behind metal and glass, you’re a part of the world around you. This visibility fosters human connection, whether through a nod, a glance, or just being seen. It’s a reminder of shared spaces and shared humanity.
