LibsofTikTok has been suspended from Bluesky.

If you have read any of the major-media reports suggesting a strong possibility that posts from that account on Twitter were a co-cause of subsequent threats against various nonprofits by readers of that feed, you are as happy to hear this news as I am.

Bad take.

It would've been wrong for Biden to interfere before/after the initial course of prosecution involving Hunter; DOJ made a fair deal with him (even if it normally wouldn't have brought charges at all). But once Republicans publicly intervened to nix the fair deal, it was a partisan hitjob.
“On the pardon decision, like his stubborn insistence on running for a second term he couldn’t win, Biden chose to prioritize his own feelings over the defense of his country,” writes Jonathan Chait: theatln.tc/uGy4XNW0

“Don’t feed the trolls” also extends to bad opinion pieces in papers of record.

They run them bc people react to them the most.

If we stop linking to bad columns and instead post thinkers we find valuable (& generate convo around it), incentives change.

It’s not easy and takes constant practice!

I can only speak for my own journalism, but my research will focus on the broken promises that cause severe—real, immediate, profound—pain to his own voters. Pointing out broken promises for the sake of pointing of broken promises will be as fruitless as it turned out documenting his corruption was.

The ability of demagogues & autocrats to surprise, to create a new scandal every day, is their superpower. It diminishes attention to the previous day's transgressions & normalizes them. It slowly numbs the senses, including outrage. Values are the only defense. Hold them dear.

I wrote a New York Times bestseller that covered the first Trump Presidential Transition period in 2016-2017, so I can tell you that the amount of Bribery and corruption and secret meetings with persons hostile to the United States happening by phone and at Mar-a-Lago would spin your head like a top
