This is amazing. Colorized pictures from queer/trans history.

We’ve always existed and will not be erased. 🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈
Gorgeous colorizations of trans history images,

and a lot of incredible stories, including many lesser-known to many (A Zapatista colonel, a "transvestite pass" issued in 1928, the Scottish nobleman who the courts ruled should inherit his baronetcy in the 60s... for example...)
Coloring the Past - Eli Erlick
Using recent breakthroughs in photo editing techniques, Eli colorizes, restores, and digitizes photos from queer and trans history. The following images are originally from 1897-1973.

If you have tenure at Texas A&M and aren't maliciously emailing the president a dozen times every day to ask if you can say this or you can say that, then what's the point in having tenure?

Just re-read Modris Eksteins Limits of Reason on the demise of the liberal, democratic press and German Democratic Party (DDP) in the years leading up to Nazism. The resemblance to today’s events is downright chilling. Some examples esp relevant today: 1/5

CEO pay is up 1,094% since 1978, while worker pay is up just 26%.

Why do we always hear "we can't afford to pay our workers more" but never "we can't afford to pay our CEO more"?

I am of the belief that there are white people who repeatedly disrespect Black people with pedigree to remind us of our "place" in the social hierarchy.

This is @profkori.bsky.social "Know Your Place" theory.

I had a great conversation with @lincolnsquare.media about where we are today: About political violence and the Right’s desire for escalation.

But also about how we got here: About the recent history of the GOP and the rise of Trumpism. And, finally, about where America might go from here:
Is the Right Looking for a Reichstag Fire? | Historian Thomas Zimmer joins Susan Demas
We're no longer a democracy, but not yet a dictatorship. Welcome to purgatory, or what political scientists call "competitive authoritarianism."

This morning, I discuss in PN how a viral op-ed by Governor Lisa Cook and I about bigotry against Black women in #economics has come full circle for Cook and how recent attacks show what #TheDoubleTax, the compounded cost of racism and sexism, costs us all. #blacksky

Pre-order: annagifty.com
New in PN: @itsafronomics.bsky.social on why Trump's attack on Lisa Cook is an attack on Black women & Black economists

"In a time where there are attempts to erase the contributions of Black people & more specifically Black women from the history books, her leadership is needed now more than ever"
Trump's attack on Lisa Cook is an attack on Black women
We all stand to lose if he gets away with it.

I think a lot of people are foolishing resisting experimenting with AI out of the misguided sense that if we all just ignore it then it will go away, but we need to keep in mind our bosses aren't ignoring it.

They're furiously trying to automate our jobs away as we speak.
