I'll ask again, does anyone know what is going on with Dulce Consuelo Diaz Morales?

None of the standard operating procedures of an emergency habeas motion seem to have been followed by Ms Slatton No emergency motion, no expedited hearing, etc Her attorney even filed a MOTION for Extension of Time!

Serious question, is her lawyer incompetent, or is there something else going on behind the scenes? None of the standard operating procedures of an emergency habeas motion seem to have been followed by Ms. Slatton. No emergency motion, no expedited hearing, etc.

@yo9333.bsky.social I'll tag you since you seem interested in the Dulce Diaz case. I have no clue what the heck is going on. The pacer is broken (the initial filing can't downloaded as of the other day) and I really wish hashtags were a thing on here #freedulce or something, so that it was /1

Does anyone know why the lawyer involved with the unlawful detainment of Dulce Consuelo Diaz Morales hasn't filed for emergency relief of any sort? I don't see any emergency motion for relief or even an expedited hearing...

This is what happens when stories come out and folks like @peterbakernyt.bsky.social write things like, “Law, who is to say?”

You’d have to have a real problematic grasp with the English language to not see that the “living memorial” describes the nature of the Center— they aren’t different things.

Just a reminder, anyone can file a Hatch Act complaint with the OSC. osc.gov/Pages/File-C... They won't review it until the shutdown ends, but waking up to a few thousand complaints against Kristi Noem blaming Democrats for the shutdown should really grind her gears. #Hatchact

I imagine so. There's going to be a lot happening at 2 pm in the fed court today, check out @jonseidel.bsky.social with the Sun-Times or @jmetr22b.bsky.social with the Trib. I'll also try to cover but have to split time between multiple hearings at 2.

@annabower.bsky.social Are you going to give us live updates on the Garcia hearing today?

@annabower.bsky.social My favorite part from the latest government filing against sanctions for Abrego Garcia - "Plaintiffs’ deposition notices were for fact witnesses, not Rule 30(b)(6) depositions" ECF 146 "Further, the Court grants Plaintiffs’ request...for leave to take (3) additional 30(b)(6)"

@annabower.bsky.social #lawfare Can anyone with experience with U Visas comment? It seems like Abrego Garcia would qualify as long as he can get an official to sign off on it.

My big takeaway from tonight’s DC Bar president candidates Q&A is that Pam Bondi’s brother is exactly who you think he is, and it’s very important that DC lawyers cast our votes for @whatajlp.bsky.social by the 6/4 deadline. Search your email for “Vote Today in the D.C. Bar Election” and do it now.

Not to mention, the DOJ hasn't filed ANY status reports since 4/30, the day the stay order expired.

Is it just an oversight or intentional blunder, given that Bondi & Noem know?

@annabower.bsky.social Did I miss an order from the judge allowing the defendants to stop submitting daily status reports in the Abrego Garcia case, or have they gone full mask off noncompliant?
May 1, 2025 at 11:13 PM
@annabower.bsky.social Have you seen any articles discussing why Judge Xanis hasn't held anyone at the DoJ or Homeland Security in civil contempt? That sounds like a reasonable starting place for, among other things, the noncompliant status reports. Not to mention the other issues.
