When you get to A Certain Age you begin to realise there are scientific things you're unlikely to know about before you peg out, like what is dark matter, dark energy, and also less esoteric answers about certain space missions. I often wonder what Patrick Moore (gawd bless him) thought about that.

Good news everyone, no.2. This here pie is two things. Banana cream, and an experiment. There were five overripe bananas and a frozen pie crust that were taking up too much room in the icebox, so I did some research (watched a lot of YouTube videos) and voila.

There was a lot about that job that was unnecessarily hard. We had to constantly come up with ways to make the stuff they threw at us work, like this manifold for diluting concentrate. This was pretty bloody genius actually. Passionfruit sold too well for them to take it off the rotation.

Bad memories of passionfruit. We used to make a passionfruit cider. Like other fruit concentrates it came in a 52 gall. drum. Unlike the others it wasn't liquid. Not remotely. It was like Play-Doh. Couldn't pump it, had to empty half with pitchers, dilute with hot water and pump the rest.

Chemical treatments and dyes sounds like a probability. Either way, it's not difficult to almost bring it mind. Or nose.

I used to transport rolls of fabric from little sweatshops in east London to Heathrow for a Turkish shipping agent. Cloth, en masse, has a very distinctive aroma that I bet you find in places like that. Not exactly musty, but sort of musty, if you know what I mean.
