Penalty for improper use: £5. Coach parties welcome. E&OE. Affiliated. Lord Lucan sez buffaloes are ok.
Very fond memories of Simple Minds and a certain person who I went to see them with around 1983. I wonder if she ever thinks of me as I sometimes think of her.

Whoever designed *that* method of holding a halogen bulb in a tracklight fitting is one of the five most evil people in the world. No, I won't say who the other four are.

Double IPAs, especially the west coast varieties, are one and done for me. It didn't help that they used to come in 22oz bottles. More like 12oz cans now. It's not the same. "102 IBU 4 U".

of the night job. It's astonishing how often storms come along in the wee small hours.

I usually don't do anything for Thanksgiving Day but this year I am. Hot dogs! With, of course. I've never done hot dogs before and I bloody love them. Speedway, burning oil, shale in your teeth, hot dog.

The one that went pop was a CF, replaced with another one I had on hand, but LEDs will gradually replace those in time.

The 'rain event' was, once again, a damp squib, and now there's another one predicted for Sunday/Monday. Seeing as how yesterday's arrived at rush hour, the next will be a middle

I love it when brewers take an already great beer and imperialise it. A (now defunct) local brewery used to make an IPA called Buckethead, and once or twice they made Double Buckethead. Oof, one of the best double IPAs I've ever had. Forget Russian River, this was better.

then chopped it Atora style fine in the machine, added it to the flour etc, and made the dough as quickly as possible to stop the fat melting. Line the basin, add the filling, lid it and into the steamer. A bonus - I only needed half the filling so that will be frozen for later use.

Raining hard.

If today is the first day of the rest of life*, does that make yesterday the something or other of the boobledy boo?

*Unless you died today, and we we will all have a day that isn't the first etc etc.

I have a headache now.

just the sort of thing I'd do, and I bloody well nearly did. After all that I had to wash dishes, and make me tea (pork chop, mash, carrots, peas) and the custard for the tart. And as if all that wasn't enough I had to deal with bloody bureaucracy this morning, and it's not over yet. I need this.

They didn't come yesterday and they didn't come last week. If they were coming today they'd most likely already be here. Am I tempting fate?

If there could be a better time to drink my last can of this I can't think of it, bar one. Well done Scotland! I'm pretty sure there are going to be plenty of call-ins and sick notes in the morning. What a game (that I didn't see, only hear about). Now I'll need to buy another four-pack.
