Clean your microwave:

Fill a bowl with water, squeeze in half a lemon, then put the lemon in the water. Nuke for five minutes, then let sit for fifteen. Even the nastiest buildup should just wipe right out.

Bonus: put lemon down sink disposal - will kill the bad smells!

BlueSky is trying to monetize so let's show them some numbers:

Reskeet this if you refuse to pay for BlueSky+ until trust & safety decides to prioritize marginalized users.

That's $96 / year of lost revenue for each reskeet...

My big project: The Death Generator.
It's a tool for making fake video game screenshots, just fill in new text and it'll give you a (generally) pixel-accurate image back, the correct fonts and everything.

The story you write for a "wide audience" will be trammeled by your own (incorrect) belief in the existence of normal people.

The story you write for the weird little goblin who lives inside your brain will grow wings because the world is full of weird little goblins
I am here to give you permission to write your really niche story that isn't 'highly marketable' and that brings you the most joy.
Embrace the cringe, vulnerability, and unapolagetic need to write your story- we really need less stories with a 'wider audience' in mind

In a zoom talk I did last night, I shared a note my mom gave me 30 yrs ago & it’s lived rent-free in my head ever since. She looked at a big feature I’d written & she said, “It’s fine, but it just seems like anybody could’ve written it. It didn’t seem like *you* wrote it.” Ouch. But she was right.

Big endorse. I just watched a movie (won’t name it) that embodied what I call the “tyranny of adequacy.” That’s when a story ticks the “right” boxes & is inert. Do you. Tell the story you need to tell. I know shit is hard in every creative field, but find a way to share yr story. Get weird, weirdos.
