Presenting: Audio Postcards

Audio Postcards is a new step in my creative journey as a musician, field recordist, and sound artist. Sharing my library of field recordings feels like an experiment in connecting with others and exploring the possibilities that these sounds can inspire. #fieldrecording

Canada made weird tv shows because it was all being done with government funded art grant money so they fell in this wacky middle ground between “shoestring budget” and “no expectation to generate shareholder value” which is really the best way to make art

Featuring recordings made in centuries-old Cairo mansion, the “peace walls” of Belfast, and elsewhere, April's Best Field Recordings column is quite the trip. Happy exploring!

Moon premiered 16 years ago at Sundance.

And I'd like to take this opportunity to thank @manmademoon.bsky.social once again for what I consider to be one of the best sci-fi films of the turn of the century. 🫡

Or the shows they’ve watched
I wish we could cultivate a culture where people get excited about and share the new skills they've learned more than the new stuff they've bought.

I think it's important to write about how and why we make art because like... humans need to make art, and they need to experience it. It's a way of the human brain processing reality; without enough of it, you go fuckin nuts. So if we can help people make good art, we can offer some nourishment.
