Every year at Gen Con, Rob Elstro commissions artists to draw him being killed by their characters.

This time I had Conan's pirate lover Bêlit delivering death and he was very pleased at how it turned out.

The new Neil Halloran documentary on Smallpox has completely changed how I see the RFK Jr. version of the world. Neil (softly) argues that realizing that disease isn't the fault of the sick /or/ the fault of the Gods ushered in a new future where we felt the authority to care for each other.

George HW Bush (R) got us mired in a recession. Clinton (D) got us out.

George W Bush (R) got us mired in a recession. Obama (D) got us out.

Trump (R) got us mired in a recession. Biden (D) got us out.

Trump (R) is yet again ushering us into a recession.

Starting to notice a trend?

Jeff Bezos recently said the Washington Post would only publish op-eds supporting "personal liberties" & "the free market."

In response, I submitted a letter asking Mr. Bezos to define his terms.

I'm releasing the letter in light of WaPo’s refusal to respond. After all, democracy dies in darkness.

For the record, do I think a one-day boycott is going to make much of an economic impact? No. Do I think that a sort of "Baby's First Boycott," performative though it is, might be useful to make some folks aware of the impact of their economic power, and how it might be wielded politically? Maybe.

Okay, so at the request of the lovely @trance.bsky.social , I'm going to tell a story about what happens when a shitty person is "just joking", and then discovers there are consequences.

AKA That Time Kat Started An Antifascist Hallway Riot In The Third Grade.

They're also flummoxed when I point out my 81%-for-Trump county hasn't gone D since 1934, and lots of folks here vote R for the same reason they cheer for Ohio State football - it's what's done and no matter what you don't cheer for Michigan. We have MAGA dickheads, but it's not the whole story.

Breaking now on #Maddow: The divorce decree from Hegseth's 2nd marriage prevents his ex-wife from publicly disparaging him. He is definitely hiding something, making him even more susceptible to blackmail if confirmed.
