Sadly, it didn't have to be this way.

So many more people will die and so many more people will suffer because of this presidency.

Hope your moral superiority was worth it.

December is a month of contrasts.
Joy and melancholy.
Togetherness and loneliness.
Overconsumerism and the holiday spirit.
Wrote this week on how, through the quiet, I'm starting to let all the ghosts and grief pass.
A reconciliation of December
A month of contrasts, the ghosts of small business past, consumerism, and making space for future Decembers.

Holiday blues often appear because we're comparing our holiday today to an idyllic (or better) memory from holidays past. Grief rears its head instead of joy.

I try to remember that my parents were dealing with their own grief when they created those joyful holiday memories for me.

It's all love.

Hasn’t anyone told you?
The amount of agony
you carry
is only the vastness of your
love
Waiting in the darkness to be found.

For everyone experiencing some darkness, I'm there with you, and I made this little thing to help us through.

Feels like I'm just posting to the void since I'm just getting started here, but why not. I write a weekly newsletter, and this week I write about how far away from reading and critical thinking we’ve come. It's lacking in our education, COVID learning loss, social media attention spans, all of it.
We need to get back to reading and critical thinking
Because 2024 feels different from 2016.
