We did the math on AI’s energy footprint. Here’s the story you haven’t heard.
The emissions from individual AI text, image, and video queries seem small—until you add up what the industry isn’t tracking and consider where it’s heading next.

If everyone lived like we do in Canada or the U.S., we’d need 5 planets to support us all. Australians & Koreans would each require more than 4 Earths. We are depleting nature’s ability to support life about 70% faster than it is able to regenerate. That's why I think every day should be Earth Day!
Isn’t every day Earth Day?

EVs resolve one issue of automobile dependence: tailpipe emissions. They are as bad as ICE vehicles on noise (over 20 MPH), space, and embedded carbon and significantly worse on tire particulates, road wear and lethal crash force (20-25% heavier, faster acceleration).

Cars don’t solve car problems.
New paper compares non-exhaust pollution (brake and tire particulates) from ICE and EV cars.

Conclusion: EV's create more tire pollution b/c they're heavier, but less brake pollution due to regenerative braking.

EVs come out ahead overall if >15% of driving is in a city.
