You can't convince me that Xfinity doesn't completely nuke their website performance when they think your going to cancel your service. I've been getting "400 bad request" for the last 10 minutes after clicking "manage plan."

And the term for murdering repeatedly is serial killer.
Based on the facts recounted by the Senator, the two do sound “shipwrecked” for LOAC purposes.

But they were never lawful targets in the first place even if LOAC applied.

And LOAC doesn’t apply because there is no armed conflict.

Term for premeditated killing outside of armed conflict is murder.
WELKER: Lawmakers say the 2 men appeared to raise their arms potentially to surrender. Why did Admiral Bradley interpret these actions as anything other than them trying to survive?

TOM COTTON: They were sitting or standing on top of a capsized boat. They weren't floating helplessly in the water

@cookingissues.bsky.social Dave! I've been making homemade peanut butter in my Cuisinart with COSTCO's Virginia peanuts. It's sooo good I don't even put it on anything. I just grab a spoonful for a snack

At 6% interest you would only pay down about 4% of the principle of a mortgage over the first decade of a 50 year loan. 12% after 20 years. By the time you pay off a 30 yr mortgage you'd still have about three quarters of the principle left.
This would basically just be paying the bank rent while also paying the other costs of ownership (insurance, upkeep, taxes), and for damn sure the banks would be super predatory about pushing it on lower income buyers.
Trying to think of a worse idea but I'm coming up short

If the Dem party wasn't nearly completely captured by corporate/wealthy interest they'd make clawing back and redistributing the $80 trillion stolen from most Americans the central focus of their platform everywhere www.rand.org/pubs/working...

This guy has never heard of a map.
Calling bubbles in real time is like trying to spot the top of Mount Everest while you’re still climbing. You only realize it was the peak when you start going downhill. It’s possible AI is in a bubble. It’s also possible we're on the cusp of a genuine technological revolution.

Paris and CR out here providing the most salient framework for understanding wtf happened with the whole "manosphere" thing in the last decade.
my latest investigation for @consumerreports.org is based on months of reporting and 60+ lab tests of leading protein supplements

we found that most protein powders and shakes have more lead in one serving than our experts say is safe to have in a day (🧵)

Last week Jesse Watters spoke to man named Eric who claimed he was formerly a member of antifa. Two years ago Watters interviewed Ramon "Mundo" Mendoza, a former Mexican Mafia member. Some folks thought the men looked similar. This is a side by side comparison. 🤷‍♀️

I'd argue the "foundation of free society," as much as that's actually a thing and not just a rhetorical cudgel, is the ability to *exist* without fear of violence. The deceased's entire political project was to undermine that.
"The foundation of a free society is the ability to participate in politics without fear of violence. To lose that is to risk losing everything. Charlie Kirk — and his family — just lost everything. As a country, we came a step closer to losing everything, too... We are all safe, or none of us are."
This Ezra Klein piece is totally reasonable.

Brings back uncomfortable memories about being on campus at a small liberal arts college in the rural Midwest during fall 2001. Bomb treats aimed at the school because of its international students were so common that some profs just started having class outside to avoid having to evac mid class.

It's never more apparent that elite political academia have never had to vote in poor urban areas than when they think new structural barriers to voting and some sort of phase transition.
Frighteningly plausible
This is step one in how we lose free and fair elections. It’s not that Trump will “cancel” the midterms.

It’s just everyone has to vote in person, and urban downtowns will be filled with ICE checkpoints and intimidating National Guard troops to “double check” that only citizens vote.

Sounds like ICE killed a guy and then held american citizens hostage at gunpoint until they agreed to destroy the evidence
Our staff is on the ground supporting families. Many workers-including US citizens, were held by federal authorities at the farm for 8 hours or more. US citizen workers report only being released after they were forced to delete photos and videos of the raid from their phones. 4/
