It matters that scientists speak out against what is being done to US science.

Staying silent is neither "objective" nor "staying out of politics".

Silence now *is* political - it supports the status quo, says "nothing to worry about".

We need to sound the alarm.

What comes to mind when you hear "climate change adaptation"? ⛈️ Many think of softened blows from hazards. But when I asked MERL experts on urban nature-based solutions during my PhD, their unexpected answers reshaped my perspective. (doi.org/10.1007/s132...)

Replacing conventional building materials with materials modified to store carbon dioxide could move the planet closer to net-zero greenhouse gas emissions, according to a new study in Science.
Building materials could store more than 16 billion tonnes of CO2 annually
Achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions likely entails not only lowering emissions but also deploying carbon dioxide (CO2) removal technologies. We explored the annual potential to store CO2 in building materials. We found that fully replacing ...

This will get a bit lost in the shuffle of everything, but glaciologists in Antarctica have finally drilled a continuous ice core stretching past 1 million years. Congrats to the Beyond EPICA team! Can't wait to see the results.
Scientists drill nearly 2 miles down to pull 1.2 million-year-old ice core from Antarctic
Analysis of the ancient ice is expected to show how Earth’s atmosphere and climate have evolved.
