EXCLUSIVE: We found that Instacart is using AI algorithms to charge customers different prices for the same items.

It's not just online. It's in physical grocery stores too.

Our months-long investigation with @consumerreports.org and @groundwork.bsky.social found it could cost families $1200/year.

TIL the *youngest* Backstreet Boy is 2 years older than me.

Also, I love the way they are trying to, like, strategically bleach and shave their gray hair away these days.

My guys, we are middle-aged. 🙄

I fucking loathe these smug ass art-hating self-congratulating ghouls & the system that allows them to fail upwards into unfathomable wealth on the backs of 1000s of overworked creative people whose livelihoods get passed around like trading cards every time these dillwads have a stonks circle-jerk.

Huh. That's not alarming or concerning in any way. What can possibly go wrong with plugging every kid we can get into one of these things?
NEW: A report found that a significant number of kids and teens are using AI companions.

More striking: themes of violence — which can include sexual violence — drove more engagement among young users than any other type of content, according to the report.

This is just pure, unhinged, lying hatred, and it's shameful that this profoundly evil man has been elevated to the position of responsibility he is defiling every single day he remains in it.
Vance: "Why have rents gone down for 4 consecutive months? Because we're starting to get those illegal aliens out of the USA. Those criminals, those gang members, those people that are taking homes that ought by right go the people in this room. It's simple economics."

NEW: A lax regulatory environment has led to the widespread abuse of farmworkers — including threats of violence, stolen wages and forced labor.

Experts say the Fair Food Program's reforms could help.

But few farms have signed on.

10 years ago I wrote about the making of The Princess Bride, one of my favourite films. With the death of its director, Rob Reiner, I wanted to share it again. There is no better way to remember him than with a story of true love.

Do I want to hate watch this to see just *how* bad it ends up being OR do I want to pretend that this moment never happened and that I don't know this exists AT ALL.

The first trailer for A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms felt like pretty clearly a different genre of story from Game of Thrones, which game me hope, but each thing I've seen about it since has made it look more gray and dour and humorless.

I'm not sure I care anymore. There aren't even dragons in it.

I mean. I'm just a grocery person, but this demand also just seems like a blatant violation of the First Amendment. Like, literally a direct government attack on protected speech by a church?

Watching The Last Waltz on the repeated and earnest recommendation of my boss and this is fucking great, actually.

A+ recommendation.

Very worth your time if you are into music or film even the tiniest bit.

You will hear some great jams while you read everyone's Wikipedia pages.

bring back shame, combat vice signaling
we all got cowed into avoiding "virtue signaling" as if the public affirmation of socially agreed upon ethical principles was somehow cringey instead of a significant part of what a "society" even is. now all there's left is vice signaling, and it's reshaping society.

I have gotten really into learning stone and bronze age history recently, and I actually find it comforting, a little, how fucked up it all has always been. Maybe that's weird of me.
reading history is wild because it's like, wow, shit was extremely fucked up the entire time and remains so. wow
