This is a new 7mm scale coal wagon I have built. Original Bullcroft Colliery Livery, circa 1912. Just needs the bright metal bits toning down with chemical blackener

a silly daydream,
It’s a gold mine.
Unearth it, one sentence at a time.

All that keeps me alive is the thought of outliving some of the ****s I have had to deal with in this life.

I'm not sure I want to write anymore. This may pass, I don't know yet.

Stephen King’s Best Writing Advice:

"Amateurs sit and wait for inspiration, the rest of us just get up and go to work."

Writing isn’t about waiting for the perfect moment, it’s about showing up, every day, and doing the work. So, what are you writing today?

I am currently struggling to motivate myself. I'm not sure whether it's better to ride this mood out or try to do something about it. I'm inclined to sit it out and wait for the mood to shift.

I have been reading Barchester Towers by Trollope. I've decided that Bertie Stanhope was me in a previous life.

'Did I ever tell you you're my hero?
You're everything, everything I wish I could be.'

Serfdom in England was already well on its way out at the time of the Peasants Revolt of 1381. More and more landlords took cash instead of services. Though odd 'services' like 'boon hens at Christmas' sometimes survived. The new tenancies evolved into 'copyhold'.

Is insanity compulsory for writers?

Or is it just an assisting factor?

I'm happily married in this sense - even if you're Miss World and a multi-millionaire, I'm not interested and never will be.

OTOH, if you're interested in medieval history, I'm happy to bore with that.

You can be sure that this will not be mentioned in the British media or on mainstream TV news. Our sycophantic UK gov will still blame the war in Ukraine, Even although the same impacts are felt in France & the rest of Europe.

A woman once told me that living with me would be like living with Spike Milligan.

She was broadly right, but I took it as flattery.

Wedding anniversary of Richard II and Anne of Bohemia. They were rarely apart, but would exchange letters regularly when they were. We now know that Anne had miscarriages (sadly) so all that old guff about them having a 'chaste marriage' can be forgotten.

Medieval Children by Nicholas Orme. In 1509 children are learning to translate the below phrases from English to Latin:

'Thou stinkest', 'Thou art a false knave', 'Thou art worthy to be hanged', 'Thou art a blab', 'Turd in thy teeth.' 'He is the veriest coward that ever pissed.'

Had a horrible dream last night. Not only was I a kid again, but I was Boris Johnson's younger brother. The only saving grace was that he crashed the car and was arrested by a police officer.

It's not the sort of dream I appreciate.
