It’s the “season of love and giving”…but this year, doesn’t it seem more like a “season of fear and taking”? Like many of you, I’ve been saddened by the human impact of draconian government budget cuts and how angry many housed Americans are at unhoused Americans.

Will the Republicans who are retiring from Congress early do the thing and actually attempt to redeem themselves and their past?
Or are they just hoping it will end the threats and cycle of abuse by those in power? (Without pushing back)

It's important to understand what this ad does and why it is so threatening to the Trump admin. It gets to social identity theory, which posits that we have many identities, and the one which is salient in a given context will dictate how we think/behave in a particular situation. 1/

Medicare for All would save $450B a year.

Every dollar spent on food stamps generates $1.50-$1.80 in economic activity.

Each dollar going to low-wage workers adds $1.20 to the economy overall.

It’s not about what this country can or can’t afford.

It’s about priorities.

Y’all need to learn how to 'yes AND'. There’s a lot of rejecting or dismissing facts because the framing is incorrect/immoral/trite, etc. but that’s doesn’t change the FACT. You can still use and share the FACT while altering or arguing against the framing in which said information was shared.

From street marches to court battles to the ballot box - we’ve challenged the power of this exceptionally unpopular president.

The lesson from each success we've had is that we need to ramp the political pressure up, always up, not back down, now more than ever.

Watching mainstream news sites try to come up with euphemisms for the video where Trump dumped "a brown liquid or sludge" on protestors is a great example of the sane-washing that the media has done for his administration since the the first time around.

Major outlets said the President dumped "brown liquid" that "appeared to be feces" in an AI-generated video. They refused to call a spade a spade, or poop, poop.

Fascism is here, it’s just not evenly distributed. Both documented & undocumented immigrants are definitely deleting their socials and keeping heads down at the risk of being disappeared.

While the average white American citizen isn’t being oppressed by the government. It doesn’t mean no one is.
If we were living under fascism, none of you would be here daring to post things. You'd be erasing your social media accounts and keeping your head down; you'd know that peacocking your faux-bravery on a network would expose you to being disappeared.
