I'm grateful that I don't eat land meat and therefore do not have to prepare a turkey or any of the associated large bird schlop fixings for this godforsaken "holiday".

POV: You're under my desk while I'm still working on the day before thanksgiving despite having 20 more important things to do.

There's a special spot in hell for the marketing, product, design, and dev scabs that enabled and normalized those "WANT TO SAVE 10% ON YOUR FIRST ORDER?! GIVE US YOUR EMAIL!" lead cap pop-over modals on every site after browsers went out of their way to restrict pop-ups back in the day.

Mother-in-law wants me to help install a reverse osmosis system in her kitchen for Christmas and I'm so excited because their water tastes so bad.

Every time a tiktok news talking head influencer pronounces it like "cloudfair" there's 20 more minutes of outage.

Just deleted a useless, clearly AI-generated unit test that used reflection to test that a specific private method existed on a class (no weird dynamic instantiation or polymorphism in sight, just a straight up defined class) and accepted a specific number of arguments.

Computers were a skill. They were taught in classrooms as a skill. Skills give you power over your tools because you work them as an expert and that is leverage to multiply externally.

And then computers became an A/B tested telemetry-based advertising conduit to brains for SaaS recurring revenue.

That's me on the left in the first one.
In January 2017 I started a project called Gay In Trumpland. During the 4 years that followed LGBTQ folks faced the most hostile political environment since the modern day gay rights movement took hold with the Stonewall riots. The opposition is still fighting us and they are stronger than ever.

The bad thing is a good handful of people won't see this post because they have that phrase muted thanks to a certain supplement shill scheme 👀
I'm on another obscure-media hunt! This time I'm seeking a clip from a Kenny Everett show, dated March 1980, where he references "A friend of Dorothy." Anybody got any leads?

The software dev feed I had pinned is suddenly gone, but to be fair it was slowly becoming more inundated with slop, so it's for the best.
