You can’t waste your vote in Australia, thanks to the genius of preferential voting. It’s what helps set our voting system apart from the US and the UK.

The NACC's decision not to investigate Robodebt should be exposed to sunlight, and hung out for everyone to see.

From the @GuardianAus live blog 👀

A welcome reversal from the NACC in regard to its original decision not to investigate Robodebt further, but it also serves to highlight how inadequate the NACC as it is currently constituted is.

Billionaires can still spend up big with the duopoly, you just won't know about it.
We will have more to say about the electoral reforms soon, but for now @thejuicemedia.bsky.social have got it covered.

Australia, you're in charge of where your preferences go. If you don't like the preferences a candidate suggests, just number the boxes in the order you prefer! Radical *and* sensible.

Good morning to Australia who has an election soon.
One very simple way to vote: #reversevote
Do you have a vegetable or similar in your electorate?
A potato? A beetroot?
Get the 🥔 voting card.
Reverse their preferential votes so that 🥔 comes last.
Eat your vegetables.

The Senate will decide this week on how much politicians can fundraise and spend.

But thanks to taxpayer funded advantages for sitting MPs, new candidates challenging them need to raise and spend more money just to catch up.
