I caught the @communitytransit.bsky.social 130 at MLT with a just a few minutes to spare. In case I had just missed it, 112 was leaving ten minutes later and would still have got me close to home. Starting to feel more like a frequent network. Keep up the improvements!

The easiest way to shut down a “debate” on the internet? Ask the other guy to provide their solution to the problem.

Now for the part where we find one example of someone who voted illegally in an in-person election then claim that all in-person voting is fraudulent and should be banned.

Time to bring back TACO, but this time it's the Putin cease-fire-or-sanctions edition. 🌮🌮🌮

It is fair game to include a business’ approach to tipping in an online review, such as tip prompts that force you to take action to NOT tip. If it affects your experience, say so! There is a Reddit sub where this was suggested, and companies to noticed it and complained about “fake” reviews! Do it!

The old Mountlake Terrace freeway station comes in handy when a tree falls onto the light rail overhead cables and they need to run shuttle busses.

The Seattle streetcar drama is like: What if we had built Link light rail “starter system” as Bellevue to Redmond plus a completely separated Angle Lake to Columbia City, and then canceled the downtown and UW sections and the lake crossing because nobody was riding it. Finish what you start!

Satellite image of LA this afternoon, compared with two satellite images when LA was on fire back in January. LA is not burning down, people. Spread the word.

Tip your server. Don’t tip your cashier. And no need to tip the internet.

Karen got into an “accident” with a motorcyclist and tries to argue “well the motorcyclist was being reckless because *he was on a motorcycle* and there is risk with riding a motorcycle.” Imagine how the lady feels about someone on a bicycle. They really do want to deny your right *to exist*!

Car dominance isn’t about safety or utility, it’s a bloated industry pushing bigger, deadlier machines under the guise of "freedom". Meanwhile, pedestrians and cyclists are told to "gear up" for their own survival.

This is systemic violence, disguised as choice.

Like every other late 30-something I know, I'm thinking a lot lately about how the transportation system will shape my parents' lives as they age (which to some extent is already happening). Learned a lot from this conversation with @gregshill.com, including some surprises.

I noticed a single car test train pulling in to Lynnwood this morning. Are we seeing the first stage of testing for the 2-Line extension from Bellevue to Lynnwood?🙏

Credit card “rewards” are actually a huge grift. Think about it: They are charging merchants 3-4%, which is being passed on to you. The “cash back” is 1-2%, and usually only in specific categories. The transaction fees used to be 1-2%, so this also contributes to inflation.

If you want to win a trade war, you gotta have something to trade that other side wants. And we're in a trade war with the very people who make all the things WE want.

You're not going to win that.

Trump and Elon are ignoring the more than 32m entrepreneurs that can't afford to build a new factory or pay tariffs or absorb cancelled contracts.
