Increasingly, I feel as if these self-proclaimed coalition builders talking about "winning the middle" aren't talking about the people they hope to win over. Rather, they're talking about themselves, and defining what it will take to keep them in the tent. Not opposed to purity tests; issuing them.

A few thoughts about this Coates piece and Lost Cause ideology. I am beyond grateful that it was someone with his insight and ability who has lifted up a much-neglected dimension of the Right’s push to canonize Kirk.

Speaking for myself, I’ve never had a crisis of faith because I suddenly realized "Wow, I don't believe any of this." It’s always come from looking around at other Christians — the ones I was supposed to look up to, guys like Mike Johnson — and realizing "Wow, *they* don’t believe any of this."

As someone who’s sat with parents who have lost young children, I can tell you that any person who would treat a grieving family like that is an absolute monster. Every day, 46 reminds us that he’s unrepentant misanthrope, but some days he does it with flair.

But Dr. Andrew’s I’m sure they “did their own research” between Rogan, RFK, and their cousin who se other cousin’s barber one time saw a person in a luxury car use Medicaid…or something like that.
This is mostly for folks on that other app. But an important reminder to lean into your qualifications.

This is what the world looked like before mass immigration, widespread racial and gendered guilt activism, and before bankers had totally screwed the economy for their own gain. People were just allowed to be themselves, and they did fun, wholesome things for their own sake.
