Genuinely, from the bottom of my heart, we have to stop these SMS and email-only ways of logging in.
It's shocking how many apps and sites are doing this. It's so bad. You simply *must* offer a way for me to have a password. Bare minimum stuff.

I got laid off today, with the rest of 18F.
18F was an elite federal software shop. We made gov't websites work better, more efficiently for the American people. We saved taxpayers from getting screwed over by contractors. And were fired for it.

Just had a random designer reach out to me on Linkedin who is passionate about GovTech and we had an excellent 30’ chat. She had zero agenda other than learning about working in GovTech and learning to prepare for applying to roles.
I think we should all do stuff like this more often.
