People and media often say Balatro was made by 'one guy'. I feel like that unfortunately may be stoking the flames of this David vs. Goliath narrative a tiny bit

No it was not 'one guy', look at the dang in-game credits
This year's Summer Games Fest presentation was really concerned with how few people made a lot of those games, huh?

It feels kinda fucked up. Not just because they're often misrepresntating the real size of these teams, but because I think it's playing directly into a new(ish) flavour of dev hate.

This ridiculous narrative that Geoff was peddling really soured the SGF for me.
I'm glad folks are finally waking up that this ridiculous rhetoric is dangerous and I applaud the folks with visibility pushing back on it.

Be honest.

If we keep repeating it, the fat cats at the top will expect it and it leads to workers abuse and overscoping.

No, Geoff Keighley—Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 was not made by a team of 'under 30 developers,' and devs say repeating the myth is 'a dangerous path'
SGF's fascination with small staff sizes discredits the integral work of external contractors and contributors.

Finished Atomfall, a marvellous little game filled with British charm. Bravo @rebellion.com

Rebellion's decision to not implement any kind of temporal AA or upscaling in Atomfall is a breath of fresh air. Not only does it run at a ridiculous frame rate when maxed out, the image quality is so crisp!

Thrilled to be speaking at Develop:Brighton this year, as part of the new Performance Track!
As part of our new Performance track, James Stant will be demystifying the expectations held by developers as they scour the world of voice talent for the perfect fit with Cinderella’s slipper. #DevelopConf

Today is the last day to fill out the UK govt consultation on AI copyright. Please do it! It really doesn’t take long and there are good guidelines here, and this government *will* take a lack of response as tacit approval. www.alcs.co.uk/news/your-ri...
Your rights are under threat from AI. It’s time to have your say!
The Government recently launched a consultation on AI and copyright. Now is the time to have your say and make sure that legislators hear the concerns of creators.

Spent an hour today with @v21.bsky.social's "Downpour", an app for making little games on your phone (still in beta). Made one about our cats called "Where's Madeleine?". Perhaps my greatest work? Takes 2-5 minutes depending on how good you are at finding Madeleine.

I think we made a hell of a game and I loved working with this team! It's been great to see Realms of Ruin in the hands of players from today ⚔😁 I'm also rather enjoying playing the campaign myself at long last!

Just finished Cocoon, it was delightful. If you have Gamepass I highly recommend checking out out (or buying it if you don't 😁)
