I’m teaching undergrad personality psych in the spring. Looking for suggestions for either a textbook or open source materials. What do you or would you use to teach personality science in 2026?

2 weeks in the US:
2 active shooter hoaxes at work (one including a 2-hour lockdown in my office)
1 bomb threat to local high school causing a 3-hour delay

2 years in Canada:
0 real or imagined threats of violence on campus or local schools

We need to do better.

For my multilevel modeling students, I created a tutorial sharing all the main functions I use for data cleaning in R.

It took me maaaany years to figure out my cleaning workflow, so I wanted to share it with y'all in case I can save anyone else time :-)

What a cool study design
Who does Spiderman vote for? Who you vote for.

In a new paper w/ @markuswagner.bsky.social we show that people engage in motivated projection of political identities. In the absence of explicit info on politics, individuals rely on valence to infer the politics of others

7 years ago, I received funding for a project on personality, incentivized prosocial behavior & social status in groups. Today, we've made the anonymized data publicly available. Researchers can now use it by citing the preprint/paper (no need to add anyone as a coauthor): doi.org/10.31234/osf...

Sorry.
The reservation system is shut down, EMT personnel are gone, so don't get hurt or lost. No one can clean the bathrooms or cabins, so they'll be closed. Rangers are fired.

{tinyplot} 0.3.0 is out! 🚨

It's a lightweight #Rstats 📦 to draw beautiful and complex plots, using an ultra-simple and concise syntax.

This is a massive release! @gmcd.bsky.social @zeileis.org and I worked hard to add tons of new themes and plot types.

Check it out!

People in Toronto don’t wear gloves. It is very cold.

Other examples?

What should we call this? Acronyms encouraged

Yes, 2025 is 45² = (1+2+...+9)².

It's the first square year since 1936, and the next one is 2116.
