a lot of extremely credulous people seem to believe MTG resigned out of some deeply-held principles or whatever, but i can't see this as anything but an extension of the grift. "principled resignation" looks good as a precursor to a run for higher office.

anyway, my younger brother had to be rushed into emergency surgery last weekend because he almost died, and going forward he will technically have a permanent (mostly invisible) disability. this is not about me, but it's fucking me up nonetheless; none of us, incl. him, knew HOW SICK he really was
