Can we go back to most people being normal? That used to cover a very broad spectrum of things. We’d developed it well to a point where we’d even got to being sympathetic and caring towards the problems faced by people who weren’t normal but would have liked to have been.

I’m sure over the last ten years I’ve thought Tame Impala to be a resolutely mid sort of band. I’ve seen them play live.

But Radio 6 seem to have elevated their 2015 album to being some sort of epochal work of genius meriting wanging on about it all day.

Maybe I’m just old.

Maybe we should do fewer reports and inquiries and just do stuff because it’s the right thing to do and we’re confident enough in it to take a lead without needing to point at a fat document to justify doing it.

For anyone who has qualified to be offered a ST for 25/26, BFC has said they will check to ensure your old membership does not autorenew. We would advise you check your account to ensure you do not get charged for both membership and a ST. Renewals are due to open on 13th June.

Given Mr Coksun is of Turkish heritage, how come all the “deport all foreign criminals” gang haven’t added him to their list?

There’s no point in suspending the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act if you don’t take advantage of it!
Trump is getting a $400 million luxury Boeing 747-8 as a ‘gift’ from Qatar’s royal family, ABC reports.

The plane is described as a “flying palace” and will be used as Airforce One and then transferred to Trump. It’s the biggest foreign ‘gift’ ever and apparently doesn’t break bribery laws.

If I was the BBC Deputy Economics editor I would probably read the actual text of what was agreed instead of just uncritically repeating unsourced infographics from the White House twitter account.

Is there anyone called Polanski who’s not a wrong ‘un? So far it seems 2 from 2 for bad guys.

Nominate some good Polanskis in the replies.
Green Party leadership frontrunner Zack Polanski tells me the UK must now end its membership of NATO, because of Trump.

Polanski says that Trump's presidency means the "Age of NATO is over" and his party should now abandon its commitment to the alliance

Canada has made the usual error of taking Trump literally but not seriously when they should have taken him seriously but not literally.

Yay for a conception of liberalism that’s less conducive to a pleasant society than libertarianism!

This sounds like a good description of working life for the first few years after graduation back in the dark ages when I was young.

As AI goes into more use in business, maybe it’s not so different.
sort of planning to probably turn this into a newsletter eventually but like, I wrote most of my undergrad essays hungover or drunk, in a few hours, without doing any meaningful research or thinking - it was definitely better than using AI for them but.....how much better was it, really?

PE might be the most obvious major difference between state and private schools.

This week my classmates’ whatsapp group was reminiscing over the 3rd XV rugby team’s unbeaten season in 1989. Few if any state schools can run a 3rd XV, let alone ones with only about 100 boys in Y12&13.

I think the fundamental problem modern society has failed to grapple with is what to do with boys who aren’t very good at talking to girls.

The only ones who don’t treat them as irredeemably sad loser virgins and instead offer them solutions are people like Andrew Tate.

The PM has now watched Better Call Saul and was horrified to find Legal Aid fees currently are set below the rates in Albuquerque in 2002 that were so low that they set Jimmy on his life of crime. This will now be remedied by screening the series in disused Courtrooms without a Netflix subscription.
