Made the most of an unplanned snow day with the kids yesterday. Managed to get three different types of plant involved with mistletoe hair, purple carrot nose and magnolia twig arms

You don’t need to reinvent the wheel. You don’t need to start a new organization, or lead the charge. Chances are there are already people in your community doing work on the problems you want to address. Find them, help them.

People often fall into the trap of thinking that the need is too great, what can one person do? If I can’t devote my life to the cause what’s the point? And the truth is you can make a big difference in other people’s lives by taking relatively small actions, at the scale you can
Honestly this is what I wish I could get across to everyone. Don't wait for someone else. Look at what you can do, right now. I don't care if it feels small or pointless, fucking do it. Act. Get up and do one thing.
And if there was one message I wish I could convey, from our groups to you, it's that - don't wait.

When you see a need, don't wait to try to fill it or fix the problem. There's no "authority" or "adults in the room" to wait for.

There's just us, and we're enough.

Don't wait.
Act.

This reminds of a tweet which has stuck with me.
"People riding bikes on pavements are an indicator species for poor urban design"
Same with e-scooters and e-bikes. Sure, some folks are being irresponsible, but the key issue is ALL non-car-users are being forced to the margins of our thoroughfares.
Lol

1. Acting as if this isn't an infrastructure issue
2. Happily ignoring how many people cars kill directly, nevermind indirectly through pollution
My head agrees with this, my pedestrian heart which observes the willful solipsism of actual exist e-bikers and scooter users in Washington DC is appalled. I mean, the threat to little kids, the elderly, & wheelchair users is incredible & indefensible.
