Community meeting on the Palisades Fire says there's been FORTY-EIGHT drone incursions in the airspace of fire affected areas, which causes authorities to have to ground their air teams. Get your dumbass toys out of the air. People are losing their lives and everything they own. You're not cool.

In the final minutes of It's a Wonderful Life, George Bailey gets to see what the world would look like if it was ruled by a malicious megalomaniac with no empathy and no concern beyond increasing his own personal wealth. Thank goodness that'll never happen.

My top genre for Spotify Wrapped is usually classic soul, but this year it was hip-hop. Almost all of it was, though there was some classical and house mixed in. I know why the change happened. Anyway, Kanye showed up on my list, but I don’t even listen to him. I hate how they calculate the results.

I'm looking at the professors on Howard's website. All of ours weren't Black, but damn! I guess it's disheartening because in every class, no matter the subject, we discussed Blackness and how those subjects intersect with and influence the experiences of Black American communities.

Okay, let me go read a lil bit.

I don't know why I'm feeling a little undercurrent of anxiety. Sigh.

In all seriousness, I had a professor who said it is, in fact, rabbit-ass mind. She connected it to the oral history of Black Americans and some of our Caribbean brethren, referencing Br'er Rabbit stories.
Rabid, but elementary school me spent plenty of time trying to figure out how rabbits went mad
Question:

Is the “ass mind” one is out of rabid or rabbit?

I've spent a lot of time thinking about my first 15 years as an academic. I have one critical piece of advice to share. Don't let people borrow your books.

I live in a country where they literally know everything about me. Everything is tied to my telephone number, which is linked to my national ID. Both of my hands have been scanned, along with my face. 🤷🏾‍♀️

My mom was born in Vietnam during the war so my test helped identify my grandpa, aunt, cousins, etc & I found videos of him before his passing through the veterans project. In a situation like ours, it was amazing. For people that already know 3+ family generations, I’m not sure of the benefits.

I’m not arguing for or against third party DNA services. I would just like to see more concise explanation that makes it more risky than any other lab that stores DNA. It seems the same to me 🤷🏽‍♀️

A lot of people keep saying what if it causes their cousins or other relatives to go to jail. Okay? You can put money on their books if you care that much.
my thoughts are: i would like to know what kind of african i am, but what if one of my uncles is a killer?

I honestly feel like they have so much information about us. Medical, financial. Literally everything. I can understand people's hesitancy about giving their DNA. I also think they already have the shit.
