I’ll be at #ALA2025 with my colleague (her first!). Hope to see you there next week!

ICE detained [legally present] migrant farmers picking blueberries in my hometown last week.

They’re just waiting to hunt down the people who are here to pick our food.

A finch decided to join in my program as we were cleaning up. After 30 minutes of failed attempts, it’s still there and hopefully will want to leave tomorrow morning. Poor little one!

Got a little bit of a creative boost, so finally prepping for my new monthly program starting in September.

Can I learn a few chords on ukelele by then? Dunno...

I miss Library Twitter. Could really use that support in these times.

I bought an Allen wrench set and tightened all of our dining room chairs (one was particularly wobbly).

Sometimes I can adult!

@oracleatbluesky.bsky.social are you still doing readings as a side gig?

Registered for #ALA annual in my favorite city! Maybe I can meet up with others in my sub-field there. The last time we were in Philly I suggested my favorite Greek restaurant in the gayborhood.

I was asked to be the voice of the delayed/closure alerts for staff. I mixed with sound alerts because I’m extra. 😂

So many great alternatives! ghost.io, beehiiv, or Buttondown! And they make transferring your old content and subscribers easy.

Someone on staff put this up as a winter decoration near circulation, and the little one makes me so happy.

My library has consumer health librarians certified National Libraries of Medicine (under NIH) who help bring health information to patrons through programming, health screenings, and displays. We also provide HIPAA-compliant custom health research.
To help people understand the importance of NIH, share what you’ve used their funding for (in easily understandable terms).

I’ll start: my NIH postdoc funding helped me develop and test AI tools that could identify skin cancer across diverse skin tones.

I’m deep in the weeds of our seed library (pun intended).

I keep forgetting how much work is involved, and I’m simplifying it this year.

Seed swap, seed library, and plant swap all in the works. Wish I could actually keep things alive other than herbs and tomatoes!🍅

Attending, “Innovative Approaches to AI Governance” at UPenn Law virtually. Excited for the keynote from the US Copyright Office!

I am currently $500 short of reaching my goal this week

I can do upbeat or heartening but have you considered PETTY REVENGE IN A PRANK WAR

Those are even funny to write so you get to be petty AND do your good deed for the day.
So i have to pay down a 50k+ medical bill to continue to access some services.

If you can help, my venmo is linda-tirado-3 and my PayPal is bootstrapindustries at Gmail

In return, i will write something moving for you to give to someone. Like cameo but with less sex pests.

Please someone explain to @thechriswilcox.bsky.social why the movie adaptation of Les Miserables is subpar just because Russell Crowe can’t sing and hit critical notes.

One more live program at work and then I’m done for 2025!

It was a very intense, marathon year with new major initiatives and programming series.

Time for recharging.
