I can’t speak for anyone else, but this analogy of “Lady Liberty’ held captive, is exactly how I feel about this presidency & administration and what their attempting to do with our rights and freedoms…

The New Yorker captured the feelings perfectly…

One word, UNACCEPTABLE!

It was never just about schools, it was never just about libraries, and it isn't actually about the books.

It's about finding a way to banish entire people, entire ideas, out of society, back into the closet or worse.

Texas bill could punish bookstores for 'obscene' books
A new bill in the Texas Legislature, authored by Rep. Nate Schatzline, would allow businesses to be held liable if a minor reports damages from "obscene" books.

This is another case that's somewhat bizarre. The judge seems to have been hosting three Venezuelan men with pending immigration court cases in his house. Unclear why, but there's nothing illegal about that.

ICE says they're all Tren de Aragua, which I seriously doubt.
It seems like a judge magistrate in New Mexico who very recently resigned (after being investigated for having some Venezuelan migrants living in his casita) was also arrested today. www.koat.com/article/las-...

URGENT: This is not a crime

A judge has the authority in her courthouse to excuse a defendant for God's sake

Trump tried this in 1st term & he was thrown out of court 👉 www.courtlistener.com/docket/14997...

PS the violation here was Patel's tweet & that's why he deleted. I'll be filing complaint

This is an obvious point, but cannot overstated. There is an enormous difference between deporting someone - where they get off a plane as a free citizen in their home country AND FUNNELING THEM INTO A BRUTAL PRISON FROM WHICH THEY HAVE NO CHANCE OF EVER EMERGING!!!

Trump’s plan to gut the VA will leave thousands of veterans without access to the health care they need, and will devastate an entire workforce.

I was proud to join nurses in San Diego to stand up for our veterans.

A Trump ally has told CNN’s parent company that they could avoid future lawsuits from the Trump administration if they make a documentary about Melania Trump or a TV show about Donald Trump Jr., which would involve paying the Trump family large amounts of money.
A Donald Trump ally has a suggestion for Warner Bros. Discovery: Why don't you pay us or give us a TV show?
Donald Trump is suing some media companies. But he's also open to deals with them, like one with WBD that could include money, programming, or both.

12 Dem Senators who voted for the fascist Lakey Riley Act:
Mark Kelly and Ruben Gallego - AZ
Jacky Rosen and Catherine Cortez Masto - NV
Maggie Hassan and Jeanne Shaheen - NH
Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock - GA
Gary Peters and Elissa Slotkin - MI
Mark Warner - VA
John Fetterman - PA
12 Dem Senators and 48 Dem House members voted for the Laken Riley Act—allowing US Govt to deport immigrants on the mere accusation of a crime.

As you see those 60 Dems complain about Mahmoud Khalil, Rumeysa Ozturk, or Kilmar Abrego Garcia, among many more—please know they enabled this fascism.

Interestingly Republicans just screwed themselves with the Safe Act! Female Democrats are less likely to take their husband’s surname 65% versus 90% consecutive, and they are 9% more likely to have passports. Still, the Senate must block this voter suppression bill.
