I ran for the State House in 2022.
I knocked a lot of rural doors. Folks would listen to me, often agree with me on most issues, and then find out I was running as a Democrat. I can't count the number of people who said they couldn't vote for a Democrat because they were Christian.

I grew up rural and like others moved away and never went back. I understand the mindset.
I struggle - how to reach them. Talking policies and programs simply doesn't cut it when the pulpits, church groups, talk radio, and the chatter at the gas station and lunch cafeteria skews toward distrust.

No one invested more in rural communities than Biden/Harris though. In EVERY case, the only reason some of that didn't get to some (red) areas are because Republicans blocked it (like with Medicaid expansion which lead to rural hospital closures). Biden brought broadband & infrastructure!
