The Small Hours is the darkest part of night, right before dawn.

It's also the title of my upcoming vampire novel.
It's funny, sexy, and very, very bloody.

A modern-day splatterpunk.

You cannot touch me, you would not dare
I am the chill that's in the air

Maybe it's because I've been digesting so much of another cultures mythology (Ghost of Yōtei), but my visual interpretation of folklore, magick, and ritual has changed. I used to think of occult ritual in terms of black and shades of grey. Now I visualize it as colorful, often bright and loud.

Been thinking a lot of when writers revisit themes/ideas/plotlines/characters/etc. in fiction. Musicians do it all the time, but some folks hate it when writers do it. I'll have more about it on my blog tomorrow.

I listened to Wish You Were Here while driving today, skipping ahead so the Shine On You Crazy Diamond parts blended together, and then Pink Floyd releases their new stereo mix of the song blended together this afternoon.

Over 25 minutes of pure Pink Floyd bliss.

Ah yes, the mistake of rushing through the main quest to only be ill-equipped for the grand finale. Want a tip for Ghost of Yōtei? Do all the side missions, get all the kickass swords and armor. Liberate strongholds, hit as many alters of reflection you can. Follow golden birds and foxes. Do it all.

The arena to get to the final battle in Ghost of Yōtei is a lot. Literally impossible to stealth your way through it. This is going to take a while.
