Whatever thing your pastor is giving you advice on, they are MASSIVELY underqualified to be advising you about. Marriage, Bible, life, whatever.
Pastors are generalists, not specialists. We know a little about a lot. But nothing in depth about much.
Very few pastors will admit it.

That modality of therapy is always secondary to the therapeutic relationship - it's more important to have a good therapeutic relationship with clients, than an expert in specific approaches.

Been married almost 19 years. In that time I’ve managed to convince my wife to watch maybe a dozen movies with me. 2 of them were Dune part 1 and 2 this week.
And my word was it ever not worth it. Most overrated movies in at least a decade.
