I keep this little bottle of cottonwood bud infused oil on my desk at work. I’m not entirely sure why, but it’s an incredibly nostalgic scent for me. I know there would have been a lot of cottonwood trees where I grew up, but I never gave them any thought.

21.6%, baby!

If 21.6% of Arkansas’ public ed funding vanishes, I’d be out of a job as well as my whole team. No more funds to administer language services to our 300+ English learners. We rely on title I & title III funds to run programs & pay staff.

Arkansas schools need federal Title I funds to operate. All counties qualify because we don’t get enough from state and local sources.

In AR we do not ask questions about immigration status when enrolling a student.

Plyler vs Doe assures districts nationwide do not discriminate based on immigration status.

If a student can verify they live within our district or have the proper transfer paperwork, they are eligible to enroll.

It’s chili time! Trying out a new recipe. This one is super simple and the chorizo is a nice touch. I’m a chili snob & am team no beans. I also despise soupy chili.

I tweaked the recipe with a little smoked paprika, a little cumin, and maybe 1/2 tsp of brown sugar to counteract the acidity.

Oh wise Bluesky fam, I am trying to figure out of the $59 Cuisinart hard anodized covered sauce pan is good enough or if shelling out more for the Hexclad pan is worth it. I have the 10 in skillet from the same Cuisinart line & like it.

But will a fancy skillet change my life?

Hey y’all! Looks like Rep Collins is going to try to bring back the Teacher Fair Dismissal Act. Sadly, LEARNS did away with this protection.

If you ask a teacher, they’ll let you know that TFDA is a very important job protection.
