If you say "I was homeschooled but my parents didn't teach me anything" then you weren't homeschooled, you were neglected. Let's not confuse those.

Questiom for my fellow homeschoolers: What is your least favorite month to homeschool and why is it February? 🤦‍♀️

I can say as a secular progressive MO homeschooler, even the conservative Christian homeschoolers don't want this because it'll come with strings attached and they're afraid they'll have to become accountable. Us responsible ones don't want to take funding from public schools. Very few want this.

New Youtube video is out! This one gets pretty personal, has a couple book reviews, and is full of tangents! So if that's your thing, enjoy!

Don’t buy stuff on February 28. Money’s the only thing these dicks understand.

I always forget how much I LOVE Bill Withers. This man has some real bangers.

I don't know if I can take this kind of heartbreak for the next four years and beyond. 💔

Love this! Will be implementing this week!

Things I would rather do today than watch the Super Bowl:

1. get a root canal
2. get a pap smear
3. kick a hornet's nest
4. swallow a spider
5. sit on a cactus
6. play in the Hunger Games
7. clean a cut with jalapeno juice
8. fight a shark
9. give a speech naked
10. listen to nails on a chalkboard

If I had a magical power, it would straight up be the ability to stop time so I could have a chance in hell of making through my TBR.

For some reason, when I picked this up, I thought it was fiction, but it's a memoir. It was a short, but heavy read, definitely aimed toward the middle grade crowd. Heartbreaking. ⭐⭐⭐⭐

It's important to continue to do the things you love to do with joy!
My current goal is to write a paragraph a day that is beautiful or horrifying or heartbreaking or whatever, that has positively nothing to do with the current political crisis.

It’s not much, but it’s something. Some part of me I do not sacrifice to the horrors, that I preserve for a better day.

Utilize your libraries, but also stock up on books. Keep books from marginalized voices. Fiction and nonfiction. Children's and adults.
Support local libraries. We’re witnessing censorship on a massive scale. Digital scrubbing is modern day equivalent of book burning

Our ability to get accurate info about public health, science, history, LGBTQ & marginalized groups is under threat

Libraries will be critical part of the resistance

You can’t fight fascism by taking a selfie of yourself in a slogan tshirt. Performative activism changes nothing. You can’t fight nazis if you won’t wear a mask.

At this point, we should just expect to mask up indefinitely.
TB is spreading and we are being kept in the dark. Protect yourself. #MaskUp
Called it! Y’all better start masking again 😷

Alt text: In case anyone missed it, the tuberculosis outbreak in Kansas has now spread to Ohio.Trump has ordered the CDC to not report on this.

I Fell In Love With Hope. Lancali has a way with words for sure. The prose was beautiful, but I struggled to follow the plot. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Highly recommend this book! It's in graphic novel format, which isn't usually my cup of tea, but it makes it accessible for kids and adults. I don't recall learning about Japanese internment camps in my public school history classes, so you can bet this is being included in my homeschool lessons.

I can get on board with this if it gets people to wear masks again!
JD Vance spearheaded a federal ban on mask mandates.

He said it was “a massive victory for personal freedom in this country.”

So wear a mask because JD doesn’t want you to.

Wear a mask to make them harder to ban.

Wear a mask as a form of community care, solidarity and resistance.

Hey gardeners, what is the BEST book on gardening that breaks it all down like we're children? I kill every plant I ever touch, but am planning to try my hand at it (again) this year. I just need a book to hold my hand through the process. 😄

My 10 year old pointed something out to me in a book that was racist that I didn't even catch, myself.
People want to shit on homeschooling but my 9 year old has a better grasp on fascism that 98% of the adults I know 🙄

I finished Onyx Storm today and, um, we need to talk. 😳
