That's twenty-seven flat-out murders. That's twenty-seven lives taken without even a semblance of a legal justification under domestic or international law.

If men with guns and masks tried to pull me out of my car, I'd fight back. Courts should reject any claims by the government that this is aggression by the person being detained, resisting arrest, or that they're a flight risk.

Who the hell are we, the United States to kill people with no due process - referring to bombing ships with NO due process? We used to speak out against other countries who might do stuff like this - the pirates of Yeman for example.

Let’s be clear: deporting Kilmar Abrego Garcia to Uganda makes no sense—it’s not his home country. Nothing about this process has been fair. ICE is targeting him with cruelty. This is the weaponization of government, not justice.
Kilmar Abrego Garcia detained by ICE during Baltimore check-in
The detention, which was expected, happened after Abrego Garcia walked into the Immigration and Customs Enforcement building in Baltimore for a check-in after being released from custody on Friday.

Deporting someone to a country they’ve never been to has got to be considered a crime against humanity.

When this is all over, whether in one year or 30, may there be trials.

I’ve heard military law experts advise, if you are given an illegal command as a soldier, do not blindly obey. Call your attorney. Obeying an illegal command can result in a court martial.

LA DODGERS just now:

“This morning, ICE agents came to Dodger Stadium and requested permission to access the parking lots. They were denied entry to the grounds by the organization. Tonight’s game will be played as scheduled.”

Right on, Dodgers!
More of this, please.

70,000 people marched through Seattle at the No Kings rally. It was loud, it was huge, and it was only a start. While downtown swelled with speeches, ICE tear-gassed protesters in Tukwila. Showing up once isn’t enough. The fight doesn’t end when the march does.

I think one of the reasons you hear so much visceral anger coming from Dems about politics these days is bc for years now we’ve been expected to respond with dignity and respect (which we do) when political violence touches the GOP. But when it touches us - we get the Mike Lee’s of the world.
Because of my work and writing, I've talked to countless elected officials and their staffers about political violence over the past several years. Mostly Dem, though not all. The collective trauma for these folks is immeasurable and justified. With no recourse. www.semafor.com/article/06/1...

This is an absolute betrayal of promises made by Congress to protect the people who protected American soldiers. A betrayal by people who think American greatness is based on half-assed military parades rather than being a credible ally to those that risked their lives for America.
An Afghan man who worked as a translator for the U.S. military during the war was detained by ICE after showing up for a hearing inside of a federal courthouse in San Diego, his attorney says. He fears that if he returns to Afghanistan, he would be tortured or even killed, @nbcsandiego.com reports.
