Just out! Our peer-reviewed critique of the Cass Review has been published by BMC Medical Research Methodology. Please read and share. We show that the Cass Review is fatally flawed and should not be the basis for policy or practice in transgender healthcare.

TBI claims here that AI could decrease energy consumption by up to 30% by making heating, cooling, and lighting more efficent. The citation for this does not mention AI once.

What a high standard of evidence.

It's just 10,000 words of 'please invest in my startup'

Defining a person's gender by their 'biological sex' doesn't work becuase 'biological sex' doesn't mean anything.

Regardless of what anyone says, this is an open door for more discrimation against trans people.
BREAKING: The Supreme Court has ruled that women are defined by biology in a landmark judgment which deals a blow to transgender campaigners

Judges have unanimously allowed the appeal brought by For Women Scotland

This is, *again*, just the inevitable result of austerity. We've had 13ish years of it with the tories, we'll have 5-10 years of it with labour.

For a party that believes money should go to improving quality of life rather than bombs and oil: @plaidcymru.bsky.social.

Aside from the glaring No True Scotsman fallacy in the government's conception of 'those who genuinly need disability benefits'. The framing that cutting benefits is somehow a kindness is patronising and either a knowing misdirection or demonstrative of a serious astrangement from the real world.

I watched the press conference Starmer and Trump held yesterday.

Of all of the words I've thought or spoken about Starmer, none seem as appropriate as coward.

Pointless, expensive, environmentally ruinous.

Imagine if a tenth of the money instead went to ensuring long term - and broad - access to education.

There’s never any money for Cardiff Uni, RWCMD, etc. but there’s plenty of money for this.

"Lie" is absolutely disgusting framing. She had sex with a guy who turned out to be such a violent "Gender Critical" that he tried to kill after learning she was trans. I wonder why she had to keep her personal medical history from him huh?! As if you would tell a potential murderer your info. Sick

They say if you’re good little children, Kropotkin will bring you bread on Christmas Day. Of course, he’ll also bring you bread if you’re bad because your access to goods shouldn’t be determined by someone’s moral judgement of you.
Kropotkin didn't die. He just moved to the North Pole and started redistributing goods stolen by capitalism to children. Capitalists made up Santa Claus to explain Kropotkin and to make anarchism look bad.

It is unsurprising that a Labour government who won on a platform of stale, right wing policy, and with the lowest share of the vote of any Labour campaign for a decade, would have such a flagrant disregard for democracy.

Streeting won by ~500 votes last time, make sure it doesn’t happen again.
Wes Streeting’s drcision to ban puberty blockers for trans kids - but not c i s kids - was purely political. 59% of medics/organisations consulted OPPOSED (I will say that again - OPPOSED) a ban. And who were among that winning minority of 27%?

@plaidcymru.bsky.social ?
@rhunapiorwerth.bsky.social ?

A public statement of support to trans people would be enormously meaningful and important.

Labour are failing Wales and Welsh trans people.
We need to show that trans people are, and always will be, safe and joyously welcome in Wales.

It is appalling and inhumane to deny treatment to those who need it.

This decision was made off the back of the cass review, a scientifically vacuous document commissioned by the tories to justify transphobia.

Puberty blockers are utterly safe, and given to cis kids all the time.

NEW: The UK Government says it is banning the prescription of puberty blockers for under-18s across the UK - including in Scotland.

Wes Streeting made the announcement in the House of Commons this afternoon.

Had to share this cause it annoys me. DS9 faced tons of hate, including racism. Watch the What We Left Behind doc for proof. Avery Brooks fought racism behind the scenes & even had to defend Cirroc Lofton after a security guard harassed him near set. Don’t rewrite history. Only Sisko can do that.

Unless material and swift action is taken, this will keep happening.

There are 300 coal tips classified as ‘high risk’ in Wales.

The next one might not be so benign as to only knock out a garage and clog a few streets. Action from the government shouldn’t take someone getting injured or killed.

Somewhat unhappy about this.
Cutting over 60% out of a story that doesn’t need it isn’t a recipe for success.

The Daleks *needed* to have stuff cut out and they still managed to cock it up.

Adding in an explicit regeneration scene is almost blasphemous.
