Even if I lose followers I won't follow you if you have 0 posts. I want to see what you're posting 1st.

Also, If most of your posts are political I won't follow you & I'll seldom repost, reply or like them. I'm VERY informed & worried about our future, but I come here to get away from that crap.

I'm very sorry to report that the great alt-country singer-songwriter Todd Snider has died at 59 of undiagnosed walking pneumonia. I stick by what I wrote about him in 2012. www.robertchristgau.com/xg/bn/2012-0... Here's Rolling Stone's coverage. www.rollingstone.com/music/music-...

“A-well-a everybody's heard about the bird! Bird, bird, bird, b-bird's the word” The Minnesota quartet known as The Trashmen gained a type of immortality today in 1963 with the release of their mind-numbing (but catchy as hell) single “Surfin’ Bird.” The record peaked at #4 in the U.S.

I liked most 70s jazz-fusion, including this. The only thing wrong with most 70s culture were the clothes & the hair. At least Joan was dressed like a normal person.

thank you, The 70s, you were awesome

Good read. I've had an iPod Classic since 2011. After they were canceled, I bought a still sealed, spare one in 2020 for $100 that I found on Facebook Marketplace. The asking price was $150. I only use it to sync it. I haven't needed it yet. My 1st one has over 20,000 songs on it. Love it!
Can iPods change the music industry again? - WXPN | Vinyl At Heart
The Apple iPod undoubtedly changed the ways of casual music consumption during the 2000s, but now in 2025, people are trying to bring the iPod back to life. With nostalgia as powerful as ever, rising ...

Best or not, let's stop complaining about the Dodgers building a dynasty. This series was great for baseball. People watched because there were 2 glamour teams involved. One of the lowest rated series in recent memory is the Diamondbacks-Rangers 2 years ago. Nobody watched because nobody cared.
I know we want to be careful with recency bias, I've tried to let it breathe a little bit. But that was definitely the best World Series of my lifetime. Drama, heroes, constant changing of the lead in games and in series, strategy, so many memorable plays. The new peak.

Neither is Joni Mitchell's "River" even though it mentions Christmas. Even she says it's not a Christmas song. In fact, she doesn't like that many people consider it to be one.

It used to bother me a great deal that they were the Fab-Faux, but I've since done an about face on them. They deserved more respect, especially after I found out they weren't an anomaly. Many of the 60s biggest bands didn't play on their records either. Watch Mickey go crazy on this video.

A Japanese TV show set out to find a person in Japan who didn’t know who Shohei Ohtani was. It took them 7,524 attempts.
Serious question: over/under on what that number would be in the US? I actually think it might be over

If you're local & are a Parker fan please go. I went to one of Jay's presentations 2 weeks ago. It was both fun & interesting. He'll have the book available for sale. I'm reading it now & will be featuring it on my blog when I'm done.
