How Republicans commemorated Thanksgiving in 1869--with a multi-racial/multi-ethnic gathering of people at a table with a centerpiece celebrating universal suffrage and self-government, and with an engraving of Castle Garden, the pre-Ellis Island point of disembarkation for immigrants.

Today is the day to repost this meme about International Men's Day, one of the most unironically wholesome memes that has ever been made.

Shoutout to all my fellow champs, chiefs, and kings. ✊

I know folks are bent out of shape about this Dem. surrender, but IMHO health care subsidies were always a foolish hill to fight for. Asking folks to sacrifice economically to defeat fascism, cool. Asking folks to sacrifice so under 10% of the population don't have to sacrifice...meh.

Not saying that health care subsidies are a bad thing, but it's very weird that that's the ground on which Senate Dems. are finally willing to fight while Chicago and Portland are illegally invaded. Germany in the 1930s (and earlier) had national health care and 90 years later nobody cares.

The Trump people claim to be fighting antisemitism, and the media often accept that framing. I believe, on the contrary, that these actions are antisemitic in intention and in execution.

Just had to unfollow a friend because he was reposting dozens of comments he liked each day, more than doubling the volume of my feed and crowding out everyone else I was choosing to follow.

Please folks, say something original and limit reposts to a few per day, tops.

California rebuilding the same stuff in the same burned areas with no changes allowed to ensure the next burn. In 2024 many Democrats voted to give Trump power to ban TikTok unless they can buy him off. Republicans don't deserve to win, but Democrats most certainly deserved to lose!

Consider this a hello to my new followers! It's me, that Berklee economics professor guy who runs a book group and has a blend of modern and archaic ideas of what the world should be.
