This They Might Be Giants TONIGHT SHOW performance of "Birdhouse In Your Soul" from 1990 remains firmly lodged in my noggin thanks to the Tonight Show Band's full commitment and Doc Severinsen's incredible trumpeting... It took an already great song and made it transcendent.

Jeremy Schroeder and Philippe Cunningham are also from Illinois. The 2017-2021 council might have had a majority of non-MN raised members? Not sure where Robin, Steve Fletcher and Andrew Johnson grew up.

Most local parties are run by people who've done the job for years because no one stepped up. So step up.

Be authentically you. Speak to your community.

There is a MASSIVE leadership vacuum at the local level almost everywhere outside major cities. Fill it.

Literally all you have to do is show up and be willing to work. Be willing to knock doors and make phone calls.

It helps if you're also willing to try to get along with people, but I've learned that even that is not always necessary lol.

Are you able to make general observations? Are voters carrying in sample ballots? Or Team Mpls sheets? Neither?

That maybe sounds like hyperbole, but I mean that exactly as I say it. He will call people and just scream at them if he’s mad about something you said on the dais or in the media. This dynamic is even worse if you’re a woman.

Mayor Jacob Frey also does not treat people with basic respect, making it almost impossible to work with him. A very common experience I’ve heard from multiple council members is that you only get a call from the mayor when he’s calling to yell at you.
