Also: There are indications that Purdy and the 49ers both are feeling there won't be fireworks leading up to a long-term deal, but I'm hearing the framework might be a little different than recent big QB agreements. Which could take some time to hash out.

The 49ers interviewed Brant Boyer for special-teams coordinator opening, source said. He has served as NY Jets ST coordinator since 2016. The 49ers expect to have position filled next week. It will not be Nick Sorensen, source said. He is not expected to remain with the team.
