We will have rain this afternoon that will quickly change over to rapidly accumulating snow around sunset, as the winds 20-30 mph winds gusting to 40-45 mph.

Hoodawgie! I fell asleep late last night and just missed the Winter Storm Warning being issued for the Twin Cites.

Now that I'm awake...holy ... I'll be focused on this event solely until tomorrow afternoon due to the snowfall and high winds expected.

METRO: The Winter Weather Advisory run 6pm Tues to Noon Wed for 1-3" of snow and strong winds gusting up to 40 mph.

ST CLOUD: The Winter Storm Watch runs from Tuesday PM to Wednesday AM for the St. Cloud area for 3-5" of snow and winds gusting to 45 mph.

Snow and blowing snow possible. Total snow accumulations between 3 and 5 inches possible. Winds could gust as high as 40 mph.

The advisory is for the possibility of up to 3" of heavy wet snow. Snow could be heavy at times which could cause brief periods of low visibility.

Quick update:

MSP set a new record high of 72F (Record: 71 in 1990). Lakeville, Eden Prairie, St. Paul, Crystal, and Blaine all reached 72 as well.

St. Cloud tied their record high with 68 (Previous: 68 in 1990).

Today will likely be our last 70 degree temperatures until early spring 2026.
