As a senior (1st semester) at TTU in the mid-80s, on the campus bus one morning I heard a girl telling her seatmate that the battery died in her car and she would get her father to buy her a new one.
Car.
Not battery.
Her Camaro was three years old.

There are a bunch of students with super expensive cars at my school. When I was growing up most of us had cars that were beat to shit. lol. And cost nothing to repair if needed to be. I think every kid should have a crap car to start life..The idea of 'status' at that age I think is damaging. IMHO

More seriously, look how many nurses are themselves disabled by their 50s. It is often very much physical, hard, repetitive labor.
Congress needs to work on real problems. One such problem is the nursing shortage. We’ve been short on nurses for years already. Boomers are retiring and there’s all kinds of probs with younger gens from “self entitled people” to those who desperately want to go to a university but can’t afford it.
