Ellis: "I see little reason for the use of force that the federal agents are currently using. Pointing guns, pulling out pepper spray, throwing tear gas, shooting pepperballs and using other less lethal munitions do not appear to be appropriate."

In video provided exclusively to MSNBC's The Weekend: Primetime, immigration agents are seen attempting to pull a man out a window of a Chicago home. Agents also jumped a fence into the locked backyard and manhandled people doing work. Hear from the homeowner tonight on The Weekend: Primetime.

Hey look how safe it is just to the southwest of me. So, so safe. From. Uhhh. Abuelitas selling tamales, HVAC workers, guys painting houses, and people working at a car wash.
Living in Chicago is FUCKING SURREAL. We’ve been invaded.
Border patrol agents deployed tear gas on the 3700 block of North Kildare where residents say a landscape worker, a resident, and a woman on a bike were detained. Video from a resident.

Unfortunately the warnings were ”being cops” and “having tear gas”
A federal judge ordered federal agents last week to issue two warnings before using tear gas.

Witnesses said they heard no warnings and none can be heard on videos, @chicago.suntimes.com reports

Here's a neat trick they teach in authoritarianism school: If you purge the people who measure the effects of your policies (BLS, MMWR), you can just claim everything's great, and nobody can prove how much damage you're doing.
BREAKING: Friday night massacre underway at CDC. Doznes of "disease detectives," high-level scientists, entire Washington staff and editors of the MMWR (Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report) have all been RIFed and received the following notice:

Whether it’s Fox News’s Brian Kilmeade advocating killing homeless people by “involuntary lethal injection” or MSNBC’s Matthew Dowd bringing up things that Charlie Kirk said, both networks have crossed the boundaries of decency.

Sitting on the floor while my husband does my business taxes last minute (I filed an extension). Can I contribute? No. Am I here mostly to make my husband feel that I’m as miserable as him while we do this? Yes.
(Ouch.)

I had my gender affirming Botox today. My nurse esthetician shares a birthday with me and she is expecting a baby due right around our birthday and I’m SO excited because January birthdays are generally pretty dull.
(Look, we all need happy things, right?)

I bought a high-res copy of this picture, framed it, and hung it in my bedroom to remind myself that nobody thought I would be here.
I’m not a huge fan of how this drawing turned out but it seems people I show it to dig it. I figured I may as well post it here.

For everyone saying political violence has no place in this country…

Remember two Democratic legislators were shot in Minnesota just this year.

And America shrugged and moved on.
