Last year, news broke that Wesley Eisold of the punk rock group American Nightmare had filed a lawsuit against WWE, Fanatics, and Cody Rhodes for breach of contract and trademark infringement. According to legal documents, the musician had registered the trademark for the name in 2016, and once Rhodes wanted to use it himself, he paid Eisold $30,000 and agreed his name or image would always be included on merchandise to ensure there was no confusion for fans.
